Dammit, the warm weather has brought the tikis inside again- there's a line of the little buggers stretched along the kitchen bench, and we've run out of poison. Looks like its time to get the exterminators back in again.

Rachael was NOT impressed that they'd gotten into her strawberries. They just *love* strawberries, you'd think she would learn not to leave them on the bench.

Darn Tikis!
They get into everything. What do use to get rid of them? Tiki-Away, or Tiki B-gone?

I'm not a huge fan of the commercial products, they're a bit harsh. I find a good dousing with alcohol (Vodka, gin or other strong spirit) cures the problem. It might even work on the Tikis too!

To me it looks like you spilled a box of o-ring seals in your kitchen.

There's nothing wrong with my ring seal, what are you implying?

Well, they did give up on cherries, figuring the strawberry is bigger... X-D

Usually when someone on the Internets asks me "What's a ..." or "Who is ..." I direct them to Google. But I googled "Tiki infestation" and "Tiki extermination" and got nowhere.

I take it they're ants?

You, like me, have been sucked in by Growler's deadpan delivery.

They appear to all have Tiki god faces, a completely flat backside, and no functioning limbs. Oh, and their swarming behavior is very tidy.

Ah, so the "small mammal" that I mention in my particularly brainless comment, below, is in actuality a specific fuzzy kiwi with a knack for suckering in the gullable. Nice!

Oh, brother. I thought those were ant traps.

I spent a minute thinking they were some kind of tiny black sand crab. Except that you can't see any legs or claws sticking out.

I just figured they were the poison-containing things you nefariously leave out for ants to take back to their nests.

I had the same problem. Google search on "NZ tiki pest" returned only "Mauri tiki", and NZ slang dictionaries only reference the phrase "tiki tour". I'm still clueless. The pics appear to show feces drizzled all over the place, so I'm thinking small mammal, myself.

You need to get a 19th colonising missionary or two ( or closest approximation) - that should deal with those darn tikis
