Lynx and portal

growler_southLiveJournal do this every damn year, usually just before I'm going away- 'improve' the update page so it breaks my palmtop. Workaround for 2006? set LJ to 'lynx' view scheme, and use the portal to update.
Come to think of it, the portal was broken last year- did they fix it while they were breaking the update page?
