EWww!! I had this tingly wierd feeling on my top lip yesterday, and today it's turned into some kind of icky sore. Yup, I think I have my very first ever cold sore. I'm blaming the recent cold snap.

Luckily I have on hand enough acyclovir to kill a horse. Neeeiiigghhhh!!!

Oh, and in the interest of over-sharing: Butt doctor (ok, gastroenterologist) says no signs of cancer or anything else majorly wrong... BUT I'm supposed to be consuming 30-50g of dietary fiber every day for the next month, to treat my gut issues. Plus probiotic bacterial cultures. This is going to be so much fun to try to maintain on the trip.

Well, yea -- I wasn't planning on hauling groceries with me -- but I suddenly have to learn a new diet routine thingy while larking about Auckland trying to have fun.

Out for dinner? What ya got with 20g of fiber in it? Oh, nothing. Super.

Though if you mix psyllium husk with hot water, you get a gelatinous goopy slurry that might be fun to wrestle in, or lick out of someone's chest hair. Probably not what the doc had in mind for a high-fiber diet...

I take 2 a day and have not had a cold sore in 3 years since I started taking them. Worth the $25.00 every 3 months.

I was on 400mg x3/day but in the last year the constant feeling of being slightly unwell was more annoying than the occasional flare-up. But to my knowlege I've never had a cold sore on my face before. Ick.
