While I'm on a roll...

Dear Intarwebs,

I'm increasingly worried about my friends. I dont know if its peer pressure or what, but lately I've noticed them displaying addictive patterns of behaviour. Being restless and cranky if they dont get their fix. Insisting on indulging their addiction even if it's inconvenient. Using more and more, regardless of the implications to their health. Having *dinner parties* where they can all indulge their addiction together.

I'm not saying that I dont eat. I have been known to indulge once in a while, but I try and wait until I'm hungry, which tends to be Tuesdays around 3pm. But some of my friends eat as many as three meals a day. Every day. And I bet they're sneaking snacks in too, though like many addicts I'm sure they try to hide them.

I understand that they must admit they have a problem before they can move on- and with so many fellow addicts I must sadly concede that the chances of change happening are low. But surely there must be a support group for concerned friends and relatives- something to offer advice and help us cope with our loved ones' obsession.

Yours in anticipation,
Growler.

And yet, the last time I saw you, as I recall you were knee-deep in catering. And loving it. Methinks the lady doth protest too much

Was it a Tuesday?

I'm actually more amused by my increasingly mental metabolism. I haven't felt hungry in years- the closest I get is hypoglycaemic grumpiness, which tends to appear after 36 hours or so of not eating. Cooking for myself is an inconvenience and a chore, but cooking for others is fun.

Hense the value of the gym. I only ever get hungry after a work out. If I actually ate in response to hunger pangs I would probably be surviving on a stick of celery a day

The stick of celery diet appeals to my inner scrooge.
