I've made an effort lately to get up at 9am, whether I need to or not. It's done wonders for my circadian rhythms, but by god I'm cranky until I've had coffee!

In other news, the impending Civil Union has the community in a tizz. Mostly they want to know if I'll be wearing white so they know to stay away from trees and other tall lightning conductors, but then they want to know when and where the reception is. It's beginning to dawn on me just how many friends I have who would be mortified if they're not invited.

I think many folks are delighted to go to a same-sex wedding, even just so they can be trendy and talk about it with their friends.
But they're also happy for you guys. They've probably seen how you are when together and wish you well.

Precisely zero nifty rituals. There's a piece of paper in a registrar's office with our names on it, and maybe a couple of homeless people to act as witnesses, and then there's a party. Just a regular Sunday afternoon party, only bigger.
