District 9.
Woohooo!! What a beautiful movie. The visuals were absolutely stunning from beginning to end. Finally a movie I could watch without noticing the effects- unlike the latest Harry Potter...ugh!!.
Yes, it was a bit of a splatterfest, yes it was a bit gross at times, yes the shakeycam made Brian a little motion sick at times, but bloody hell those 'prawns' were real. They were absolutely and utterly embedded in the scenery. Perfect.
I didn't even think about the plot holes until we were well out of the theatre (and there were a few, mostly in the premise).
Great movie. Go see it.

Date: 2009-09-01 03:19 am (UTC)I don't know why they have to make these wibbly-wobbly handy-cam films .... or if they do, they need to look at others who have done it beter... Battlestar Galactica was filmed mostly with unsteady-cam without making me feel sick....
maybe I am just old....
