growler_southLast night we had the office christmas party. A mountain of beer and wine, and a slushy machine full of exceptionally potent margarita mix. Salt-rimmed glasses of frosty green evil. The wonderful thing about Margaritas is that they have no effect for around 45 minutes, which is enough time to drink 3 or 4. (Or more if theyre tasty, cold, and free as was the case at the party...) Dean the barman noted, "You could see a tidal wave of drunkenness sweep over the crowd" Spectacular. I staggered down the hill at 11pm, made it as far as D's place, bashed on the window and was let in. Surprisingly enough. Theres something really quite lovely about a friend who will let you crash out in their bed, drunk and snoring, and will still crawl in behind you and snuggle all night. And then make you coffee and drive you to work in the morning :-) I definitely owe D one...
Cleaned up the workshop this afternoon, perfect hangover purgatory. Cool and dark, and seeing it clean and tidy is very rewarding. Finally remembered to clean the lathe down, its been sitting with grinding dust on the bedways for nearly a week. Looked at the Austin-Healey, looked at the Mini, and thats about it for restoration progress :-)
Had a wee TXT conversation with Taz, he's still staying with his mother-in-law, went with his daughter on a school trip. I really hope that spending some time with her will give him the motivation he needs.
Kenny contacted me yesterday, asking if i wanted to go visit him for 'A coffee and stuff' and, after much thought, I decided that my principles still hold. Yes, Kenny is a gorgeous and charming man, and nice to be around, but his lack of consideration for others is something I cant overlook. Taz' lack of care combined with Kenny's indifference to his own health is putting Taz through a hideous amount of worry. A shame that I cant get over that, because Kenny really is nice, and is the most gorgeous thing Ive seen for ages. But fish/ocean i guess.
