Its an array of 16 fast drives, all working as one, with parity data so that if one drive fails the data on it can be rebuilt by the others. Changing the disk can be done while its powered up too. Theres about 1.5Tb (1500Gb) of space on it too, and all that data is sent via a FibreChannel link to the editing machine. Its used for editing video. We've got another two on order.
