Oh puh-lease, that's like US$39.95 (ok, so its US$2200) Still not bad considering its almost twice as far as AKL-LAX...

I'm knitting, and growing a beard, as we speak.

Get a navy P-coat. Dark blue wool down to mid-thighs. Wonderfully warm, even at -30F.

And mittens are better than gloves at that sort of temperature. "Chopper" mittens in leather are trés butch.

And thermal underwear (aka longjohns) allow you to stand around in regular jeans whilst giving the impression that the cold doesn't bother you. Very manly.

It's an entirely new category of drag to add to your wardrobe!

Beards, strangely, don't seem to help much with the cold. I've heard it speculated that they are actually better for wicking sweat in hot climates. Note that eskimos don't have beards.

Delmar is a trip. He's hilarious to hang out with... at first meeting he'll always ask you if you have a little eskimo in you. When you say "no" he'll ask you if you'd like one to be. DOH! hahaha

Thanks for the link to this site Furr... and most Eskimos do not have Facial hair as extensive as mine... My mother is Full blooded Inupiaq Eskimo, and my father is, Well, Half Orangutan mutt from Missouri. German - Irish - Choctaw - and a few other indian tribes from the south... we both have the same beard, its actually kinda cute... feel free to email me at PolarbearDN@yahoo.com guys. I will be in Anchorage this weekend... hunting down a new cave for the long winter nights to cum...

I was wonderin' where that frisky Eskimo had disappeared to as of late. Another winter on the Slope.... now THAT place is COLD. Makes Anchorage look like Florida. LOL

Uh, ok. Yea, it's hard to make blanket generalizations without getting slapped for it.

Delmar certainly has a nice beard.

But aren't beards *generally* less common on eskimos?

Still I guess the argument that they're not an evolutionary advantage in the cold could be shot down with assertions like the eskimos are descended from pacific islanders or others who don't have beards, and it simply hasn't been long enough for beards to evolve.

Knitting? Warm woolen jockstraps?

Wool? Try bear-hair, my love. If I appear to have my paws attached to my face, its just the bear-fur mittens I've knitted out of my beard...
