1.5 liter DOHC VVT-i engine 1NZ-FE in the Toyota Vitz gets a bolt-on turbocharger with intercooler and now produces 150 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 195Nm of torque at 4,800rpm.

Whee!

Wow!

That's actually quite sexy....

Those numbers don't mean that much to me though... I'm not as butch and ruggedly handsome / masculine as you.... *sigh* LOL

Horsepower isn't all that useful- peak horsepower can be very peaky, whereas a flat torque cuve may render better power to the wheels at all revs.

The back seat's also very accommodating.

I had no idea Toyota made a Jewish car.

"Vitz". Sounds somewhat Jewish, like Himovitz, Horovitz, etc. Odd how the names of a particular model change depending on markets. Some of it is due to trademark conficts in certain countries, others end up being cultural. What sounds like a cool or at least acceptable name for a car in one country ends up being unintentionally humorous, odd or even offensive in others.

I like the name VITZ more than YARIS.

The back's a bit fussy, but the front is awesome. I'd order one in 4WD though, that's a lot of horses to put through the front wheels.

It looks a bit gay... and what is a horsepower?

I thought you were going to ask me what 6000rpm is! In either case, not something you need to worry about. Fords have Torques, not Horsepowers.

Ah, and 200kw = 268hp.

Would be interesting to see how the wee MR2 and the mighty Ford go in a drag race. Someday ;-)

yeah... the 32 valve quad cam V8 develops 388hp.. and a proper drag... chain them back to back and see who makes it to the summit of the Bombays first...

Want!
I've been looking at the Yaris for some time. (you know about my fetish for little hatchbacks don't you?) A turbo would make it even more enticing.
150 HP? Nice! My PT makes that, stock. (And it weighs 1000 lbs more than the Yaris, so it needs it.)
I gotta say, after weeks in the Honda Element, I appreciate the PT's posher amenities.
